One little girl brings all the canned spinach in her mother's pantry to donate to a local food bank. A class of 3rd graders puts together a shoe box filled with school supplies to send across the world to change the life of a less privileged child. A local choral group brings the gift of music to reach people that music does not normally come to. Funds are provided so that disabled military veterans can receive canine assistance. A field trip to a "living history" museum that is designed to help students meet their needs for civics instruction and awareness.
Nonprofit organizations like these and many others depend on the generosity of donors to provide greater support that is essential for protecting and nurturing the quality of life in the Denver metro area. One donor can make a difference, but what kind of a difference could an entire community make? Community First Foundation is an online community foundation that encourages charitable giving by providing comprehensive, objective and up-to-date information about Colorado charities – and an easy way to support them online. For more than 35 years, they have been helping donors and nonprofits come together to help hundreds of organizations raise awareness through their Nonprofit Preservation Initiative program to preserve the future of Colorado nonprofits.
Thanks to their corporate partner FirstBank, there will be more reason than ever to support Colorado nonprofits on December 4, 2012 starting at midnight. FirstBank has provided $300,000 for an incentive fund that will leverage donations made through www.givingfirst.org. The FirstBank Incentive Fund will be proportionally allocated across all donations received, increasing the value of each donation.
At the completion of Colorado Gives Day, Community First Foundation will determine each nonprofit's proportionate share of the incentive fund by dividing the total amount each charity raised by the total amount of donations to all participating nonprofits. This amount will then be multiplied by the total amount of dollars in the FirstBank Incentive Fund. They are also sponsoring four additional $10,000 prizes for nonprofits.
So you see your donation of at least $10 could make a big difference. Check out www.givingfirst.org and search for the Aurora Singers. You can even preschedule your donation, get your year-end tax deductible contributions taken care of, and make a difference that you can see in your community – all in one place.
